Welcome to the new home for Scouting in Southend-on-Sea area.

The Southend-on-Sea area is divided into two Districts:-

Southend West District Website
Southend Estuary Website

Southend West District extends from the Southend Borough Boundary in the West (adjoining Castle Point District), Southend–on-Sea in the East (adjoining Southend Estuary District), the River Thames in the South with Southend Airport and Eastwood in the North (adjoining Crouch Valley District)

Of our 16 Scout Groups, three are Sea Scout groups (two of which are Admiralty recognised). All three Sea Scout Groups have excellent waterfront facilities and are fully equipped for the training of all young people. Two of the Groups have full disabled facilities Each year a regatta is held in Leigh Old Town the proceeds of which benefit Scouting and an ‘outside’ Charity which varies annually.

Southend Estuary district is made up of the following areas of Central Southend, Prittlewell, Southchurch, Thorpe Bay, Shoeburyness, Wakering and Barling. In these areas, we have 17 Scout groups, including one group for special needs members, and six Explorer Scout Units. In addition we have the Neptune Scout Group run in the children's ward at Southend Hospital, and most of the groups take boys and girls as members.
